We have an active programme of fundraising which is essential to
maintain the
impetus of the Trust’s work and to expand into new areas.
Since the launch of the Trust we have raised almost £40,000 with
promises of a further £10,000 in the future. We are grateful to all
the organisations and
individuals who have supported the Trust.

Some of the Fundraising Highlights:
Performances of music, dance and poetry featuring musicians from the Music Therapy Trust and the superb 'Shallal Dance Company' took place at the Exchange Gallery, Princes Street, Penzance during the Golowan Festival.
The Trust is very grateful to The High Octane Jazz Orchestra who gave two fantastic concerts during the summer. Thanks to the Rotary of Club of Truro who organised the first one on 27th June in The Marquee on Lemon Quay, Truro. The second was held on Friday 3rd July at 8pm at Green Lawns Hotel, Falmouth. All the musicians gave freely of their time to support the work of Music Therapy in Cornwall.
June 08, The Khatmandu Restaurant donated £5 per person on a special fundraising dinner held in the Restaurant
December 08, 'The Hairy Bikers' otherwise
known as the Mavericks Motor Cycle Club,
held Christmas Toy Run donating presents to the children and
families at Trenoweth Children's Centre in Illogan.
And again April 09, this time delivering a mountain of Easter Eggs to the Trevu Children's Centre as well as raising funds for the Trust. Very many thanks to you all.
April 09, The Adam Reece trio at Perranporth Conservative Club. Adam who is a committed member of the Cornwall Music Therapy Trust user group gave a concert to a packed and enthusiastic audience.
The Truro Three Arts kindly promoted the
Trust and raised funds for us at their
March 2007 concert with the Herold Quartet
July
2007, the Rotary Club Truro Boscawen staged their annual
Cornish Proms Concert in the Hall for Cornwall with Suzanne Manuell,
the St Keverne Band, Mevagissey Male Voice Choir and the Cadgwith
Singers, on behalf of
the Trust and other beneficiaries.
The Redruth Amateur Operatic Society and Four Lanes Male Choir under
the direction of Alistair Taylor performed an outstanding programme
with soloists Philip Davey and Sera-Ann Baines at the Truro
Methodist Church. The programme was organised by Rosie Moon and
raised funds for the Trust. It was also a welcome opportunity for
the music therapists to describe their work
Motoring for Music Therapy
August 2007, Ian Bowden of the Cornwall Music Service completed an
epic three week drive across the United States and Canada covering
3,000 miles and raising funds for the Trust.
He travelled from Seattle to Boston along the I90, the longest
Interstate in America visiting a number of places, including
Chicago, Sioux Falls, Toledo, Cleveland, Erie, Niagara Falls and New
York and raised more than £185 for the Cornwall Music Therapy Trust
by offering access to his online “blogs” and photos to everyone who
donated the Trust. He had donations from a number of lodges of the
Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes a worldwide charitable
organisation, including one from the lodge he visited at Niagara
Falls.
